How Do I Prevent Hairfall After Typhoid?

Hi, I am goran khera from delhi. My problem is that I had typhoid last year in august a pretty severe one and I had to be admitted to the hospital. Now I'm perfectly fine but I'm losing a lot of hair. I mean the hairfall is severe and I'm afraid that I'm gonna go bald in sometime. I just want to know how to prevent the hairfall and is it normal to lose hair after typhoid?
And how much time is it gonna take the hairfall to stop.
thank you

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a diagnosis of Telogen Effluvium in your case. Telogen is the resting phase of hair cycle. After a major stressing event like medical/surgical illness (typhoid in your case) scalp hair is prematurely pushed into resting phase(Telogen) from the growth phase (Anaphase).

This phase usually starts in the third or fourth month after a major stressor and ends by six months. This is a temporary phase.

I would advice to take a good healthy diet. Take a high protein diet because hair is all protein(keratin).

take care
regards
