How Common Is An Ectopic Pregnancy?

i think that my implanon broke, I have been having a lot of common signs of pregnancy.
So I'm concerned that if i am i shuld go get the implanon taken out immediately. Is this something that has happened with implanon before? And How common is a ectopic pregnancy?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Yes of course there have been cases of the implanon breaking, although not common. How sure are you about this? May be the implanon has not been releasing the hormones as expected. If either of them are present, it may have to be taken out.

I would like to emphasize on the fact that the implanon can cause a hormonal imbalance that can result in pregnancy symptoms, and this should not be confused with pregnancy. Please leave this to a doctor to decide.

Ectopic pregnancies are indeed common but in women with some obstruction in the fallopian tubes (e.g. adhesions, etc.).

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
