Hello, Dizziness and vertigo can be caused by many conditions. A good history and physical examination can rule out many of those causes. Are there any associated symptoms with vertigo? Does it come when you look at some particular direction? does it come with the movement of neck (back and forth) Vs side to side? How long does the vertigo stay? Is it associated with Tinnitus? The most common cause of vertigo is positional vertigo which is very simple to diagnose or treat within an office or even at home, You can google the Epley s maneuver to diagnose or treat the same at home if it is positional vertigo (Don t do it if your neck hurts). Sometimes neck conditions also cause vertigo and the MRI scan will be able to help diagnose that. Other vertigo conditions have associated symptoms. The loss of smell or altered smell can be due to nerve injury due to any cause. It recovers slowly and it will get better with time. You can take vitamin B12 to make the healing better. For ears, you need to get it examined to see if there are persistent perforations? If yes, then treatment will be accordingly and if no, then there is nothing much to worry about.
