How Can Neck And Breast Rashes Be Treated During A Pregnancy?

I have had a rash for about two years now that used to be on my back but went away. Later I got the rash on my neck and it spread to the bottom of my breasts (it doesn t really spread and just stays the same now). I thought it could be Pityriasis rosea but it hasn t gone away in 6-8 weeks like it says. It doesn t really itch much its kinda pink. I am also 24 and female. Also I had this for about a year or more and just found out I am pregnant so I am very worried it could affect the pregnancy.

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hello,

Chronic rashes on the skin are unlikely to affect the fetus in pregnancy. Pityriasis rosacea is not a genetic disease, and not transmitted to the fetus. I would suggest you consult a dermatologist for proper examination, evaluation, and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Deepti Verma
