My mom has had leg swelliing problems .She takes a potassium supplement and two blood pressure pills. One is DILTIAZEM 240MG. the other is DIOVAN 160MG. Could one of these be blocking her potassium intake and how can she best maximize her potassium absorbtion rate ? Tim, Sherwood AR.

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
Your mother is using diltiazem, and diovan, and potassium suppliments.
She has swelling of the legs,it may not be due to the potassium being not absorbed. Probably it is due to the diltiazem, it is a common side effect of the diltiazem.
It can be corrected by the supplementing with some other anti hypertensive.Or adding some mild diuretic.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
