Heavy Bleeding On 5th Day. History Of Light Discharge On 5th Day And Regular Periods. Menopausal?
I'm 46, have had regular periods up till now. I was about 14 days late then started bleeding very lightly, then on the third day normal bleeding fourth & fifth day heavy bleeding. Usually by the 5th day I'm about ready to stop. Am I menapousal?? My mother isn't alive & I'm a bit shy to ask my older sisters about their experience of menopause & what age they were.
Hi.
You are 46/F, having a regular periods so far. This mth your period was delayed for 14 days then you had mild bleeding for the 1st two days, then normal bleeding on the 3rd day and heavy bleeding on the 4th & 5th day. Usually your periods stop on the 5th day.
This you can call as the onset of Perimenopause (the time from which menses start to become irregular). perimenopause takes place in the years before and after the final period. Moreover the hormoanal changes are gradual. perimenopause effects may be short or can continue even for 10 yrs. So you can call it as onset of peri menopause effects. one additional information mother and daughter may have perimenopause and menopause at the same age - but not always
Best wishes
