Heaviness In Head, Dizziness While Turning The Head, Slight Pressure In Face, Little Leakage While Standing. Anxiety?

Hi, for the last two months I have been suffering from what feels like a heavyness in my head, feel dizzy at times, if I turn my head fast it feels worse. My BP readings have been fine. My face has slight pressure, but I do not have a sinus infection. When I stand at times I leak a little. The navy drs here can't seem to figure it out and now are telling me possible anxiety. I don't buy that because of my personality. Please help.

Thank you
Kim

Hello Kim,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be due to:
1. Any pathology in the vestibular apparatus in inner ear (it is associated with maintenance of body posture & balance) & Cerebello-pontine angle.
2. Any stress or inadequate rest & sleep.
3. Decrease in blood sugar levels (Hypoglycemia)
4. Deficiency of certain nutrients like Iron, Vitamin B 12, Calcium, etc. which interferes with blood formation & nerve conduction.
5. Long term use of certain medications.

Investigations like complete blood count, estimation of blood sugar levels will be helpful.

So, it will be better to consult an ENT specialist & get a proper physical examination done including vestibular function tests.
Based upon that, appropriate management steps could be taken.

Also, make sure that you do not get up or bends down suddenly or make sudden head movements.
Take some time, it prevents sudden stimulation of the semicircular canals & prevents the symptoms.

Wishing a good health.
Take care.
