Hi anzar welcome to HCM,

Nause and vommiting after a head injury is a danger sign only but normal head ct rules out the dangers except a condition called Epidural hematoma in which condition findings may not be seen for some time in head ct but will be presenting with other danger signs like loss of consciousness, etc. Since you have mentioned here that she is still having nausea, if vomitting also persists its better to be under observation of a doctor till everything gets normalized.
Wishing for good health,
Dr. Parthipan

Hi Anzar,
Thanks for writing your query.

It is good that the CT scan report of your mother is normal.
Nausea and vomiting after head injury is a common symptom. It can be a symptom of concussion injury. In this, some chemical changes occur, which manifest as some symptoms, vomiting and nausea being one.
Other symptoms are persistent headache, confusion or irritability, loss of memory, seizures, seeing flashes of light, difficulty in maintaining the balance of the body.

If there is no internal injury, you donot need to worry. Ask her to take as much rest as possible. This will speed her recovery from symptoms. If the symptoms persists, consult a Neurophysician.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.

Hi,
its a good sign the CT scan was normal. this rules out acute hemorrage in the brain. Generally, when there is breeding in the brain, we have severe headaches, jet like vomitting, blurred vision or person avoids light and a decreased level of consciousness. Your mother however presents with non of these. Vomitting its due an increase in the intracranial pressure, which occured even in very mild injuries or concussions, probably what your mother could have had. Just watch out for any complaints of headaches, fits, behavioural change, consciousness, blurred vision complaints jet like vomitting, then you consult urgently a specialized hospital with neurological and ct scan services.
That not withstanding, i think you just watch out for any of those signs, for now, she is ok
thanks
