Having Muscle Cramps, Memory Loss And Loss Of Balance. Pain In The Eye. Is Something Wrong?
I have been getting many muscle cramps , confusion- forgetting things, mixing up names and words, and feel off balance. Feeling like I will fall when I walk down steps. Oh, and pain in right eye. All issues come and go though. I can be exhausted and feel the symptoms one day but not another day. I have an appointment on Thursday. What could be going on?
Hello,
thanks for your query.
Your description refers to a condition known as multiple sclerosis. It is an inflammatory disease causing damage in brain. It usually presents with vision problems, difficulties with coordination and balance, muscle weakness /cramps/spasm (causing difficulty in movements),Clumsiness or a lack of coordination,Numbness, problems in speech etc
It can be diagnosed with help of MRI and spinal tap. Then it can be managed with disease modifying drugs.
I advise you to visit doctor and rule out other similar conditions like muscular dystrophies, Brain infection or vitamin deficiencies.
Hope it helps.
Take Care!
