Having Dry Throat. Feeling Sick. What Should I Do?

I woke up with an extremely dry throat. I've tried drinking water, juice even gargled warm water with salt & nothing seems to sooth my throat. When I swallow it feels like the walls of my throat are sticking together from not having enough moisture. I don't have any pain or any other symptoms to feel as if I'm getting sick. What should it be or what should I do to fix it?

Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

I can understand that you are worried and concerned about this. Do not worry, we shall find a solution for this. I would have preferred to have your age, sex, and medical history as well, but we shall work without this for now.

Let us start by listing all the causes for a dry mouth, which is not subsiding despite consumption of water. They are:
-Diabetes
-Hypertension
-Gum problems
-Dental problem
-Nerve disorders
-Anxiety
-Medication
-Mumps
-Anemia
-Arthritis
-Systemic diseases
-Alzheimer's disease
-Damage/disease of salivary glands
-Smoking

If you feel that any of these conditions could be a possibility, please bring it up with your doctor. If you are still unaware about the case, please visit a doctor and get yourself investigated for all the above conditions. By visiting a doctor, you might also reveal other symptoms which you might not have felt worrying enough to mention in this discussion. Those symptoms can narrow the search down. Wishing you all the luck and a speedy recovery

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
