Have Yeast Infection. Been On Sprintec, Taken Diflucan. Can I Take Plan B?
Hi. I have been on sprintec for about 1 year now and today I just took Diflucan for a yeast infection that I have. I was informed to use a back up for sex and so my boyfriend and I used a condom. However, the condom broke and he said he pulled out but he said he can't be 100% certain. Can I take plan B and how much (%) does diflucan decrease the effectiveness of sprintec?
Hi, Thanks for your question. I don't think there is a harm in taking plan B with the given history. You must continue your birth control as well as the back up method for the rest of the month. I don't have the exact percentage to quote but the effect is quite small. Take care.
