My boyfriend ejaculated inside of me around Nov 8, where I got my period at the same time afterwards. 1 hour later, I took the Plan B pill . Now I have been experiencing a brown gooey discharge for about 1 1/2 weeks now. It started again On monday, (arrived the same time I was suppose to get my period) but of a much lighter flow. Is this normal symptoms of taking the Plan B pill? Is it just dried old blood releasing? lining of the uterus?

Hello, Welcome to HCM, I am Dr. Das
The symptoms you mentioned, are indicative of side effects of the pill. But still do a home pregnancy test to rule out any possibility.

So, just do the test and keep following up.

Hi, I took a Plan B pill and my doctor said to start my birth control on Sunday. I woke up late so I figured I ll just start it the next day because she suggested taking it in the morning rather than at night. But that night I started bleeding lightly, so I didn t start the pill the next day. I normally get dysmenorrhea for the first to second day of my period so I didn t think anything was wrong, just that it was really bad yesterday. I had a headache. I was dizzy, had lower back pain and thought I was hungry because of abdominal pain . I was also sweating even though I felt it was cold. After eating I threw up and I just thought it was the dysmenorrhea. But I feel the same way today, except I haven t actually thrown up. And it s weird because I m on my third day. I should be fine already, but I m not. I m not sure what s wrong. I really want to get better. I had to leave work early yesterday and I have to go in tomorrow.

it is very common to have a period after taking plan B, and it takes sometime for things to get back to normal. I would assume that this is the most likely explanation for what has happened to you. once you start taking the birth control, things should get back I normal again. I do believe that...

I had unprotected sex the first of January. I could not afford the Plan B pill so I took 2 birth control pills the morning of, and 3 each day for the next 3 days .I followed directions I found online, not smart I know). I had only been off my regular period for a week and a half at the time of the unprotected sex. I had a period the next week after taking the BC pills. This month, 2 weeks earlier than I should have started, I had a slight period. I have tested twice withe negatives both times.Could I be pregnant?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
According to your description, the possibility of pregnancy is less. As:
-Oral contraceptive pills in high dose can act as emergency contraceptive pills.
-You took the tablets within 24 hours of the act.
-In case of regular periods, the possibility of ovulation is less...

I have been taking Lutera for about 2 weeks, and 2 days ago I had sex. The condom broke, so the next morning I took 5 Lutera followed by another 5 pills 12 hours later (I was informed that this was the same as taking a Plan B pill). How do I continue with my pack? If I wouldnt have taken the 10 pills, I would have had 2 and half more weeks of white pills before the nonhormonal pink pills. Now, I only have 5 days until I take the nonhormonal pills. What do I do?

doctor1 MD

Hello and welcome,

Please do not worry.
If you were already on lutera and taken pills regularly there was no need to use the condom. Even if it broke there was no need for an emergency contraception as you were already on regular contraception.

Now since these additional pills have been consumed,...

hi. I used to have sex twice in a week with my gf. I use condoms but in each time for the first few minutes (may be 1 to 2) I used to don't wear condoms. After that I'll wear condom, but I never cum inside her. Now problem is. she had her period on 5th. It lasts 3 days (strictly 2 days, which is very unusual to her. becz she used to have 5 days long periods). She had no pain @ that period. After that we'd a intercourse on 9th, and I gave a Plan B pill. She ate it on 10th evening. And we'd safe intercourse on 11th and 15th. This is history log. On 15th evening she bleeds again (Pls Note: 2nd time in this month). This time its very painful and that blood doesn't smells like her usual bleeding blood (She smells @ it). Right now we don't want a baby and she & I are worried about unwanted pregnancy. Could you please clear us sir.

Hi,
Thanks for using healthcare magic.

I have gone through your history.

There are no chances of pregnancy. What she had on 15th evening is withdrawal bleeding of plan B pill.
If you do not want to have pregnancy, it is advisable to use acceptable contraceptives each time while you have sex....

The other day, I was fooling around with my girlfriend and my bare penis was touching her bare vagina . There was no penetration. I do not remember, but probability is high that there was some pre-ejaculatory fluid on the tip of my penis, and I do not remember if I urinated between that last time I had ejaculated. After becoming over paranoid about the possibility of her being pregnant she took a Plan B pill around 30 hours after the incident occurred. She was however on the fertility part of her cycle. What is the probability that she is pregnant?

doctor1 MD

Hello I have gone through your complaints . Any excitement and stimulation will lead prostrate gland secretions. As you have not penetrated there is no chance of getting pregnancy and the other wise step what you have taken is by taking pill. So there is no need to worry. It's better you guys use...

Hello, Doctor.

I have some questions regarding pregnancies and I am hoping you can help me.
My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex two days ago, and it lasted about three minutes. He did not ejaculate, however he said he was somewhat close to. I have taken Plan B a few weeks ago after another instance of intercourse (he did not ejaculate then, either), and I am not sure of the chances his pre-ejaculate (if he did this time), will get me pregnant. I bled a few days after I took the first Plan B pill. I am wondering if I should take another one if the chances of our last intercourse will get me pregnant. My period is very irregular and I have not received a full period ever since I took the first Plan B pill. I don't know if I should take another one, because I feel as if I do, my period will be irregular for even longer, but the chances of pregnancy will lessen. Please help!

doctor1 MD

Hi
Irregularity in periods is a side effect of this hormonal contraceptive pills. So it doesnt means that you are pregnant. Its effectiveness depends on how soon you take the pill. It should be taken as soon as possible -- within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. When Plan B One-Step is taken as...

I had sexual intercourse on the 8th (around the time I should have been ovulating). Then again on the 14th. There was a hole in the condom on the 14th so I took the Plan B pill. I bled lightly on the 22nd and a bit heavier on the 23rd, then the bleeding stopped. Could I be pregnant? If there possibly a hole in the condom we used the first time?

doctor1 MD

There is very less chance that you can be pregnant. Condoms failure rates is high but if you had pill then chance is rare.

my girlfriend has been on birth control for 2 years now without ever messing up her cycle and today we were rubbing together instead of having sex and about 30 seconds after i ejaculated my penis accidently slipped in. We are worried that some sperm could ve been on my penis still and we are afraid of pregnancy. Is the Plan B Pill the best option or do you think we would even need anything? Please help
