According to your clinical history i suspect that you wanted an orthodontic treatment and you are having cavities in your teeth.
I would suggest you to visit the Dentist get a checkup done take an OPG radiograph which will give you the treatment plan, before putting the braces you have to get the decayed tooth to be restored.
Get complete mouth scaling and polishing done.
During the treatment you have to maintain best oral hygiene or it can lead to gingival problems like inflamation and swelling.
use antiseptic mouthwash gargles twice daily.

But the duration of treatment and pain associated will depend on the severity of malaligned teeth as well as outcome of treatment.

So before going for orthodontic treatment i would suggest you to go for complete oral proplyaxis and treatment rendering good oral health.

cavities in the teeth can be filled with restorative materials.

Weak and sensitive gums indicate gingival infection.

It needs to be treated by thorough professional deep scaling of gums and root planing of the teeth to remove all the irritants .

This will help in resolving the symptoms followed by a course of antibiotic and analgesics.

i would suggest you to go for symptomatic treatment at home like gargling with lukewarm saline water or antiseptic mouthwash like chlorhexidine or betadine.

I understand that you plan to get orthodontic braces. Prior to your orthodontic treatment it is better to get your cavities restored with filling. If you have gum problem you need to get it corrected too. You can get your braces post that. An OPG will reveal how many cavities need to be filled, if there is any gum infection.Get your scaling done too.
You can undergo braces ,there may be slight discomfort initially but it is manageable.You can check with your dentist about the treatment duration.
