Have Splitting In Thigh After Running. Started Bleeding And Formed Scabs. What Is It?

After running one of my thighs has developed series of areas were the skins is chapped/splitting on one of my thighs and has started bleeding and formed scabs. This does not appear to be a fungal infection. What else might it be? The skin on my interior thighs has been splitting and forming running scar tissue for some time.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The splitting of skin in the thigh on running is likely to be due to a superficial skin infection. It is more likely to be a bacterial infection which needs oral antibiotics to control.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
