Have severe contusions in neck, back, arm pain. What is the remedy?

My doctor has told me I have severe contusions in the neck. For the last 3 months I have had incredible pain in my back and arms. The pain has dissipated into my upper and lower forearm. It's scary because I am a fiddle player and can't play. What is the remedy. ? Will I have to have an operation. He has said I will need to see a neuro surgeon. Many thanks for your help, doctor.

Thanks for writing to us.
The contusions like you are having usually heal with rest and mild pain killers in 2-3 weeks. Surgical treatment is not needed if there are no signs of infection in the areas affected.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
