Its important to ascertain whether this pain is superficial or from a deep organic lesion (heart, lungs), it deserves a very serious evaluation. A physical examination and a Chest
X ray might be very useful. An electrocardiogramme is important to exclude a cardiac lesion, and consequently a cardiac
ultrasound. Acute heart syndromes or coronary events are quite common today and must be excluded. Lung disease and rheumatologic disease, like Triezt syndrome could cause superficial pain.
