Have Oozing In The Wound In The Knee. Had A Fall Earlier. Have Been Applying Aloe Gel . What Can Be The Reason?

I fell on concrete 4 days ago and scraped my knee over the scar from recent patella surgery. It looked much like road rash and bleed a bit. I covered it with a bandage that night but have left it uncovered since except for today when it started oozing. I have been placing pure Aloe gel on it. Why is it oozing and what should I do? Thank you for your help, Jan

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
Oozing from an abrasion is normal in the process of healing. It usually lasts for two to three days. You may apply an antibiotic cream and bandage it for two days. Once the oozing stops you may leave it open.
Hope this helped
Take care
