Have Itchy Rash Associated With Hypothyroid. Bruises In Inner Thigh. Could It Be Intestinal Infection?

I have an itchy rash that is associated with being hypothyroid. However, lately it has gotten much worse and yesterday my inner thighs showed a ton of small bruises. Today the bruises have spread everywhere and my thighs are bluish purple and swollen. My doctor thinks I might have an intestinal infection. Any other thoughts?

Thanks for the query,

Itching is a common association with hypothyroidism.

Bruising in thigh area can be related to this.

However intestinal infection causing bruise only in thigh area is unusual.

These infections cause generalised itch.
