Have Itching On Arms And Shoulders With Rash Like Lumps. Had Excema. Cure?
I have been scratching my arms and now shoulders unbearably for 6 months. The only rash that appears looks like inconsistant Mozzie bite type lumps. the itch burns also. My dermatologist thought it was an allergy to a plant. I have not been near that plant since I saw her in December. I am a nurse and have worked in "skin". I have had excema issues since I was a baby, and this is nothing like it. Thanks
Hello, Welcome and thanks for posting your query to HCM. It appears from your query that you are suffering from the problem of urticaria. As yourself a nurse so understand quite better about the problem. It is a simple problem where multiple, evanescent, red itchy eruptions appears and then subside within few hours of appearance. These appears exactly as you have described and sometimes can involve larger areas of body also. This is a simple process of body where due to bursting of specific white blood cells (mast cells), there is appearance of red bumps with itching. Main treatment for the same is by antihistamine medications under medical guidance. You can meet a good dermatologist, explain him/her the detailed problem and can take the solution accordingly. Hope it helps. with good health wishes, Dr Sanjay K Kanodia MD ( Dermatology)
