Have Grade 1 Prostatomegaly With Significant Post Void Residue And Prostate Enlargement
My dad is having problems in urine bladder .... He is 60 yrs old. In testing reports the impression is Grade 1 prostatomegaly with significant post void residue and prostate is enlarged in size and measures 37cc,. Is it critical situation? What is the treatment options for the same?

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your father has enlarged prostate with significant post void urine residue.
There re two treatment options
1) Medical line of treatment with medicine like combination of Alpha blockers with Dutosteride
this will arrest the growth of the prostate further and improve the urine flow.by relaxing smooth muscles in prostate and bladder neck. However this will be temporary and will have to go for other option
2)Surgical treatment which is endoscopic resection of prostate (TURP) which is gold standard procedure practised world wide.
It offers permanent cure and helps to improve quality of life.
