Have Fungus Of Toenail. Want Effective Topical Medicine
Is there an effective topical medicine that can cure fungus of the toenail? I did go to the doctor and she prescribed a type of polish that had antifungal but the cure rate is only 12%. I tried it and it did not work. She told me my only other option was to come back and get liver blood work in order to get the oral medicine since it is very hard on the liver.
You are having fungus of nail...called onychomycosis.
It is caused by dermatophytes.
It is exacerbated by water, soap and poor immunity.
Local application of clotrimazole lotion may improve the condition.
Ketoconazole, fluconazole and itraconazole are effective medicines, but you have to take long time about 1 to 2 years. And your doctor is right, liver function tests are to be done at interval.
I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
