Have Cold During Menstruation. What Can Be Done About It?

Hello, I m wondering in which medical direction I should head with my question/issue: I m 38 y/o mother of 2 children, my youngest is 10 months, my oldest is 10 y/o. It has been my situation that nearly every time I have my period I have a cold either at the same time or within days of starting. It s not just a stuffy nose or just mild symptoms, these are full blown knock me down colds, sometimes with fevers, others without a fever but all other cold symptoms, lasting from 4-7 days. I ve done some looking online and it seems like other women have this also but what could be done about it? I eat healthy, daily I take pre-natal vitamins (still nursing), 2000mg vit D3, 1300 mg flaxseed, 1000 mg lysine-(around that time of the month), chlorella & alfalfa. It sounds crazy but what it feels like is that i have a dormant virus just waiting to spring up whenever my immune system is low, which is apparently every month during my period. But how and why is my immune system SO low? Should I see an ENT? my family Dr? OB-GYN? Thanks for whatever help you might have.
