Have A Hair Follicle, Like A Zit. Have Little Fluid Inside, Not Looking As A Herpe. Have Got HSV 1 At Times. Treatment?

I noticed yesterday a hair follicle that seemed to have been inflamed/enlarged. I promptly pomped it like a zit as i have done many many times in the past. However upon further inspection it seems like around the opening of the follicle that is resmebles almost a legion, mainly concerning is that it is a small field surrounding perhaps a 2mm radius around the follicle that exudes a little fluid. This morning I woke up and observed that it had retaken the "zit" like appearence, and in a less then intelligent move popped it again, happy in the confidence that it did not look like a herpe. However now looking at it I am again concerned. im curious what you think this could be? For reference I have HSV 1 (i get cold sores from time to time).

Hello,
Welcome and thanks for posting your query to HCM.
In your query you have not mentioned the exact area where the problem is existing and the hair follicle is involved.
Anyhow the problem which you mentioned do not appear to be herpes. Herpetic lesions manifest in form of small blisters and not like a inflamed follicle.
The best measure to tell you is to not to pinch, pop or squeeze the area as it can lead to further infection.
You can take a proper course of antibiotic to take care of the problem.
With good health wishes.
