Has Dengue, Enlarged Liver And Very High Level Of SGPT In A Baby. Further?

Sir, A 3 month old baby (in India) is detected as having Dengue NS-1 positive , enlarged Lever , SGPT highest level in the acceptable range , platelets count is confusing (in one centre it was more than 0000 , in another centre it was only 0000) . I need your expert advice on immediate remedial action as the baby is only 3 months and only breast-feeded.

Pediatrician 's  Response
good morning, in ur query the platelet counts are not specified , its ok, if the doctors aret treating the child based on the diagnosis of dengue fever , go ahead with the treatment, only thing to be taken care of is to make sure that the blood pressure dosent fall and the child going to shock. i m sure the doctors treating ur child will take the utmost care for the treatment. i would also like to rule out severe sepsis which is also one of the cause for low plate let count in which case giving antibiotics of higher generations is necessary. if its only a dengue fever with low platelet count and no other complications , ur child should recover soon. wish him health , all the best.
