Had Total Hysterectomy, Cured, Taking Cap, Suffering From Headache. What Should Be Done?
Hi, I had a total hysterectomy (ovaries, oviducts, uterus and cervix ) 14 days ago. Surgery was nearly 4 hours as I had adhesions to the bowel and bladder and fibroids growing into my rectum . I recovered really well and was home in 3 days. I am trying to ween myself off the painkillers ( ibuprofen ) as my wound site feels good and I feel good EXCEPT with no pain killers I wake up with a terrible headache which would last all day if I didn t take my painkillers. I never have been a big coffee drinker so I have ruled that out. The pain is worse when I move my head or bend over. The only other medication I am on is Levathyroxin 100ng. per day. I was post menopausal for 2 years before my hysterectomy. I await your advice eagerly. Thank you, Abigail
You had undergone total hysterectomy and recovering. You're having persistent headache. This headache may be due to anaesthesia. It is common for patients to have headache postoperatively due to anaesthesia. It headache gradually subsides within a month or two. If it still persists then consult a neurophysician.
