Had To Do D And C Due To Collapsed Gestational Sac. Wife Rh-, Husband Rh+. Any Chance Of Normal Pregnancy? Suggestions?
Hi doctor, yesterday I was diagnosed with a collasped gestational sac containing echogenic debris and I had to do an immediate d and c at 6weeks. My questions are 1. how can I prevent this in future. I don't know if my short and dry period has anything to do with it? 2. I am RH- and hubby is + can I still have a normal pregnancy as I don't know if am sensitized or not. Thank you doctor.
Hello Thanks for your query. Firstly you had a missed miscarriage. Here the baby fails to grow normally, and due to this, the D and C was done. There are various reasons for this, commonest are chromosomal disorders. THis is an aberration of nature, and can occur accidentally in any pregnancy. Most women go on to have a normal pregnancy later on. It is important to have chromosomal analysis of the D and C tissue to have exact diagnosis. Rh negativity can lead to problems such as abortions. right now , please have a shot of Anti D after your abortion. An indirect Coombs test will tell you if you are sensitized or not, it should be done BEFORE the shot. Take care.
