Had Lysis Of Adhesion, Hemorrhagic Cysts On Both Ovaries, Endometriosis. Done CT Scan And US. Free Fluid In Pelvis?
Hi, I had a LAVH almost 4 years ago for endometriosis and pelvic pain. I had lysis of adhesions about 6 weeks later. In the last 2 years I have had recurring hemorrhagic cysts on both ovaries. On occasion, Ct or US have indicated free fluid without the presence of a cyst. My question is can endometriosis cause free fluid in the pelvis and can this free fluid cause or aggrivate any adhesions? My gyno is recommending surgery again but I am not sure if that will help or make things worse.
Hello, Your endometriosis history with present ultrasound ant CT scan pelvis have been noted. A little amount of fluid in pelvis is no serious problem. If the fluid is in moderate to huge quantity, then a large cyst rupture must be suspected and treated. I would suggest you please discuss the amount of fluid and get re assessed if required before going for another surgery. There are many predisposing conditions causing adhesions and not any one particular one.
