Had UTI. On Trimetho/sulfamethox. Too The Medicine Together. Woke Up With Headache. Lips Are Bigger, Eyes Red And Hurts To Move. Suggestions?

Hi I went to my doctor and he prescribed me trimetho/sulfamethox for my uti . In addition to that I've been prescribed ferrous sulfate. I took the first poll I listed at about 12pm or 1 pm I can't remember exactly but it was in that time frame. Then at 11pm I took both of the pills at the same time because I'm supposed to take the first pill twice daily and the second pill once. I woke up at 1am and I haven't been able to sleep due to an extremely painful headache , everytime I move my eyes it hurts and now I'm just sitting here and it's throbbing. I feel horrible . Then I went to look in the mirror and my lips are slightly bigger than they usually are and eyes are red. Please help me , I just want some sleep but I feel tired not sleepy.

The symptoms you have mentioned are due to side effects of COTRIMOXAZOLE(trimetho/sulfamethox).Its an allergic reaction in which there will headache,swollesh face lips and eyes,rash on face and even breathing difficulties.Take tab.avil and consult your doctor.Stop using cotrimoxazole to prevent further complications.You better take tab.norflox 200mg bd rather than taking cotimoxazole but only after consulting your doctor.Thank you.
