Got Tonsils, Painful To Swallow, Taking Cepodem, No Relief. When Will I Feel Change?

I have got tonsils,developed resistance against enhancin 1000mg and zithromax. Finished the course but the tonsils didn't get any better. My doc now put me on cepodem 400mg starting last night. I take them twice a day morning and evening. So far i have taken them twice but haven't felt a big difference. After how long do i start seeing a change?It's still painful to swallow anything including my own saliva. please help

Thanks for writing to H.C.M. for your query.

I have gone through your query regarding tonsillitis, and the treatment you are taking. As you said that your infection has got resistant to antibiotic Enhancin and Zithromax. Now your treating doctor has change the antibiotic to cepodem. Is it according to sensivity pattern of culture report ? if yes than wait for atleast 48 hours to get the effect. onthe otherhand if it is not according to C/S report tan you should make yourself checked for culture and sensitivity of throat swab,and after this test one should follow the sensitivity pattern of antibiotic for you to get good result.
