Got Blood Test Done For Transaminase And Cholesterol. Do I Have To Worry?

Good morning, I had a blood test and mu Transaminase G.O.T is 72 UI/l I am 49 years,1m78 and 72 kg.My cholesterol is 2,36, in the family they all have a high cholesterol . I am drinking some wine with dinner but not every day.My husband drinks the same and his Transaminase GOT is only 21... Do i have to worry? I have an appointment with my doctor tonight. Hi
Unless the SGOT levels are increased two or three times,it is not of that concern.
Cholesterol levels between 200-240 mg/dl are at borderline risk for heart disease.
You didn't mention the values of other liver function tests like SGPT,Serum bilirubin,Alkaline phosphatase.
As Alchohol affects liver,it is better if you stop it completely.Avoid fatty foods also.
There is no hard and fast rule that your husband should have same values.
But,nothing to worry.
Everything will be alright once you meet your doctor.
