Got Mersa After Knee Replacement, On Vancomysin After Joint Removal. Creatinine Level Got High, Temperature High. Any Ideas ?

I had a pap test on Wednesday. The dr. found a large polip. The took a sample of everything. I now have a fever of 100.9 which came on within the last 5 hours. I am 52 years old. I have had a knee replacement that ended getting Mersa. I had the joint taken out and a spacer put in for 2 months and was on Vancomyisin. After I finished the Vanco, and I was waiting to be tested to see if the Mersa was still there or not I ended going gram positive/gram negative due to the port still in my arm. When I was taken to the hospital I was given more Vanco for being septic. At that point my creatin level at the highest was 3.69 and the dr was debating whether or not to do dialias. My kidneys then started to function. I am wondering if I may have an infection due to the pap test. Oh I forgot to also say that I have a mutian gene called prothrombin 0000 which encourages blood clots. I have had a PE as well as a DVT. I am on Worfan (blood thinner). Should I wait to see if my temp. continues to go up before I go to the ER?
The back of my neck as well as lower back aches. Thank you

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Based on your history of MRSA infections, sepsis, previous kidney failure and blood clots , it would be best if you go to the ER rather than wait to see if the temperature resolves on its own.

It is definitely possible that the fever is related to the procedure that was done a few days prior, but if this is the case, you would need to be on antibiotic therapy.

At the ER visit, your doctors will be able to determine the source of the fever via history , examination and subsequent investigations.

I hope this helps and wishing you the best
