My boyfriend has Factor V and currently both of his legs are swollen with clots and he cannot walk. He has been to the hospital several times and they send him home he is now waiting for an apt with a Hematologist. What can we do in the mean time? He is on blood thinners and pain meds

Hello,

I see through the query that your boyfriend is on the right treatment for blood clots. I recommend to avoid staying to long on the feet. I also suggest to use compressive stockings and maintain the feet elevated if possible. I also suggest to walk to help the blood circulation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
