Frequent Urination, Psa 1.8, Detected Enlarged Prostate. On Medication For For BP And Enlarged Prostate. Can Dosage Of Losartan Be Reduced?
I presently take 100/25 losartan and bystolic 25 for BP and tamoslin for enlarged prostate. My BP runs about 110/64 in the evening after exercise. I would like to reduce the dosage of Losartan as I seem to urinate a lot. Also, the prostate drug doesn't seem to work well. I still have difficulty urinating. My psa is 1.8 and the procto exam shows that I do have an enlarged prostate. It seems the prostate thing all happened about the time I started taking BP meds.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Losartan , bystolic all are lipid lowering and anti hypertensive & diuretics . There is a misconception in your mind that B P medicines are responsible for enlarged process. I want to make very clear that prostate enlargement is absolutely a normal process in men as age advances. Tamsulosin reduces the size of prostate. Beside this you can use Capsule prostina 2-2-2 ( 2 three times a day). This is an Ayurvedic medicine & in our day to day practice we use it with success . Hope I have answered your question. If further any question I will help. Good luck. Dr. HET
