Extremely Sore And Painful Ring Finger. History Of Being Hit Bending The Finger Backwards. Possible Broken Finger?

Hi I was playing football yesterday and the football hit my ring finger and bent it backwards, I wasn't able to bend or straighten it without significant pain yesterday and I went to the walk in centre and the docter splinted it saying if it gets worse come back, but its swelled up a little, and I took my splint off today as it got dirty and I can now straighten it but I can't bend it the full length only half way and its not due to the pain its not physically letting me bend it any further, what should I do it's extremely sore when I move it side to side and touch it and try and bend it, im doubt it'll be broken but just need some advice quickly.
