Extreme Pain, Bleeding With Large Clots. Depo Taken Previously. Normal?
I was on the depo birth control shot for little over three years. My last shot ended at the end of october. I didn't get my period till five months after that. And I was told it was normal. I was only spotting. And it was not blood colored, but brownish black gridy stuff. I've just started the pill and am having my thired period. Since being off the depo. But now I'm having extream pain unlike cramps that I use to get. Aswell as bleeding I am having large blood like clots come out.... is this normal?
Menorrhagia is abnormal heavy and prolonged periods. It may be related to abnormal clotting of blood, disorders related to the endometrial lining of the uterus or problems with the normal hormonal regulation of periods or fibroid in the wall of the uterus.
You may want to consider visiting your doctor for an assessment to determine the reason for your heavy bleeding. The assessment would involve examination, a papsmear depending on the last time you had one , an ultrasound and possibly endometrial biopsy- this would depend on the examination findings and ultrasound.
I hope this helps
