What is the treatment for fibroid?

hi i have been taking norethisterone tablets for 6 months for fibroids as i have prolonged bleeding and i am waiting to see a surgeon about having them removed i have been experiencing side effects like weight gain, a rash on my arms ,cramps in my legs at night, hot flushes i wondered should this be right
