I have been experiencing shooting pains in the area of my rotator cuff and my upper biceps. was given xray no broken bones. I was given a cortisone shot and the doctor did mention scar tissue I can only raise my arm a little and very difficult to put on shirts and sleepless without the two pills she's given me. have I severed a tendrom or damaged a ligament?
From the description it looks like you are suffering with PERIARTHRITIS OF SHOULDER. The exact cause of this condition is not known but it is more often seen in women, Diabetic patients, people with cardiac problems etc.
This condition may have a variable natural course which is said to resolve spontaneously within 12-18 months.
Treatment for this condition is as follows -
* Physiotherapy in the form of progressive range of motion exercises forms the mainstay of treatment.
* In few cases, Intraarticular steroids are most effective
* Arthroscopic capsular release is becoming the accepted method of treatment for this condition with improved range of motion
* Manipulation under anesthesia will work in early cases
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
