Due For Hysterectomy Just The Cervix And Uterus. Any Problem For Sexual Satisfation In Future For The Partner?

My boyfriend is very well endowed and I have to go for a hysterectomy but so far just the cervix and uterus and I'm worried it will feel like a bottomless pit for him or he won't be able to go in all the way. Does it really feel like that for men after and is it possible he won't b able to go in all the way.( he's 9" long and 5.5" around)

Hi,
Having hysterectomy has nothing to do with enjoying sex.
In hysterectomy operation vaginal canal is intact.
In having intercourse vaginal canal is used.
Uterus and cervix is nothing to do with intercourse.
So tell your boy friend to remove false fear of having less joy with this operation.
ok and take care.

Radiologist Dr. Vivek Chail's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Most men usually don’t report feeling any difference in physical sensation or sexual satisfaction after resuming intercourse with their partner after her hysterectomy. Men often express concern at causing their partner pain and/or injury so both partners may feel some apprehension and concern when resuming sex post operatively.

It can be useful to discuss any concerns you or your partner have prior to resuming intercourse. Sex after hysterectomy is a time for open understanding, reassurance and patience in a sexual relationship.

In a research done the majority of women and their partners reported no negative impact on sexual satisfaction after abdominal hysterectomy, regardless if subtotal or total. The only predictor of negative sexual experience of partners after hysterectomy was negative sexual experience before hysterectomy.

Its all in the mind and nothing to do with hysterectomy surgery itself.

Hope this helps
