Done Angioplasty For AWMI. Life Expectancy And Precautionary Measures?

Am 61 years of age. Had undergone angioplasty for AWMI in July, 2012. It happened all of a sudden. Have no history of BP or Sugar or Cholesterol . I would like to know what is my life expectancy post this surgery. What precautions I should take and about diet . I have been advised to limit my intake of fluids up to 1.5 ltr/ day. Plz tell me why this restriction and how it affects my health.

Hello and thanks for writing in
We can not change the destiny but can change the quality of life so that you have not to fight for every breath. As per AWMI is concern your block in the coronaries has to be opened as soon as possible so that your heart can not be damaged. Post surgery life is as good as before but you have to take the medications properly and follow certain life style changes:
1. Do regular exercise for about 30-45 minutes per day.
2. Reduce your weight if your are overweight.
3. Stop smoking and alcohol.
4. Avoid fatty, oily and sugar food.
5. Keep your blood sugar, bloop pressure and lipid components in control.
6. Avoid stress
As per low fluid intake is concern nothing can be commented without seeing the EKG, blood investigations and ECHO reports.
Best Wishes
