Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your diagnosis, medications and current symptoms.

In my opinion, you should stop taking tryptomer (amitriptyline) for two reasons- firstly, it is not needed in your case, as it would not reduce your tremors. Secondly, drowsiness is a side effect of tryptomer.

Also, I agree with you that tryptomer does reduce the seizure threshold.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

I suppose your doctor gave you Amitriptyline (tryptomer) thinking that your hand tremor is related to anxiety. While he might be correct it is true that Amitriptyline can lower the seizure threshold apart from the side effects that you are experiencing.
So if you have to be treated for anxiety I would prefer another drug like citalopram or escitalopram which have similar efficacy, fewer side effects and don't influence seizures as much.
Discuss your concerns and its use with your doctor.

I hope to have been of help.
