What Is Epilepsy And Is It Safe To Marry A Person With Epilepsy ?
hello doctor , I am getting marriage to my uncle daughter next april, unfortunatly she got a epilepsy last month, how critical is epilepsy? is t safe to marry in blood relation with epilepsy?

epilepsy itself is bad disease.
& to marry in blood relation gives rise to more chances of genetic disorders.
better if you consult genetic specialist,he will answer you the right answer.

Epilepsy when treated is safe and easy to handle.
Anti epileptic medicine should be taken regularly as per the prescription.
Consanguinous marriages are discouraged as the chances of malformation in kids has raised.
The risk also depends on how closely you are related to your uncle.
Epilepsy does not stand as a hurdle for your marriage.

Thanks for using Healthcaremagic. Some epilepsies are genetic and most of them are not. So we have to find out if her epilepsy is genetic or acquired due to some injury to the brain. If it is not genetic if can be cured with medicines and does not come to other family members. There is no harm in marrying her. If she is on medicines for fits, give her folic acid 5 mg supplement also. Bye

Read your prob, epilepsy is a chronic diease, she had an attack on last month so first you have to rule out the cause of it by CT head, EEG CBC .ESR N mountex test. discuss all of it with your treating doc n start proper treatment. when she will start treatment there is less chance of appearing seizure.
this is not a critical , this is chronic but curable.
there is no corelation between epilepsy n merrige. so dont bother.
