Does The Blood Test Done For Having Regular Stomach Normal?

Hi Doc

I am 37 year male, having stomach trouble regularly.

i am taker or alcohol & smoke

Recently had blood test done, below mentioned are the results

SGOT result is 22 units & SGPT result is 42 Units what does this means

What does it means & wt cautions to be taken, please sugges

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The two tests reports that you have mentioned are liver enzymes- SGOT and SGPT.
These two enzymes are elevated in case of any injury to the liver cells (hepatocytes).
The normal range for both the enzymes is below 40 IU/dl.
The value of both these enzymes is within normal range.
Thus, there is no damage to the liver cells.
The cause of stomach ache has to be found out.
Infection, gastritis, reflux disease are more common cause of recurrent stomach ache.
You need to consult gastro-enterologist for further work up.
