I am a 45 year old female and was told hypertension in 1997. In March of this year I woke up day day to double vision and in June with sever pain all over my body and joints in Aug blood test are postive for RA I now am seening a Rheumatologist. He is diagnoseing Vasculitis as well. I have had three infusions of steriods this week and my first of hopefuly only three cytoxan infusions. My question is could RV be the cause of my blood presure problems and if so if we get things in remission could i possibly be able to get off the blood presure meds on day

Hi,

Ejection fraction of 40% is not bad. Patients with such ejection fraction may live for years. If he has no heart block and no arrhythmia, then there is no need for pacemaker.
Your father's main problem is blocked vessels and angina. Everything depends on the size of blocked vessel and the degree. Of it is small vessel, it may not be dangerous. Anyway he should receive aggressive treatment for angina and atherosclerosis. The prognosis depend also how he will respond the treatment. Sometimes angina disappears in 6 months, so patients have no heart attack for a long time

Take care
