Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Tonsils can be a constant source of infection that can involve sinuses and throat. The primary goal to treat sinuses is to make sure they are well aerated and drained. Any infection or inflammation in the surrounding area can affect the sinuses. I will suggest to treat the primary cause by medical or surgical treatment of sinuses (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery) has excellent results and then asses if Tonsils needs to be removed. Just by removing tonsils will not be helpful.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
