Does Hypothyroid During Pregnancy Will Effect Baby In Any Ways?

i am a hypothyroid patient and pregnant ,third month going on.last month my tsh level was 2.3 bt has now risen to 14.32.will this affect the child in any manner?the doc has now advisd to 175mcg of thyroxine daily.pls help.i m really worried about the mental health of my child.pls help.

Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Uncontrolled TSH levels can lead to fetal complications like intrauterine growth restriction and mental retardation. However, mental retardation is more common in the fetus if the mother has deranged TSH levels in the first trimester of pregnancy.
I suggest you not to worry and take the thyroxine in the dose in ehich it is prescribed.
