Does Vyvanse Affect Hyperthyroidism?
I have been on some form of ADD medication since I was 13. Adderall for most of the time and for the last 9months Vyvanse which works just as well. In the last 3-4 months I have gained 30+ lbs. A thyroid panel was done on me and I have Hypothyroidism and have been given the drug Levothroxine to manage it. Is it still ok to take my Vyvanse or can that somehow interfere with the thyroid medicine. I am now 22yrs old. Please help!

It may cause harmful drug to drug interactions. When taken along with Levothyroxine, Vyvanse may increase the risk of side effects such as high blood pressure, palpitation, chest pain, and irregular heart beat. If you have preexisting heart disease, your condition may worsen. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications.
