I recently had a BUN test and it was 61 - I am non-african - I take Ibuprofen 800 mg. for a sciatia problem I have - Would this make my flow low?I was told that caffine, tea is bad and will make this test low.Would appreciate your advice - I did not know you charge for this service. I don t have money to get this answer - I assumed it was free but was I wrong.
hey friend ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory drug & it has nothing to do with reducing the BUN level rather in rare instances it may cause renal impairment & may lead to the increase in BUN level. So there is no way to reduce the BUN level.
As your BUN level 61 ( as mmol/l or mg dl is not specified ) is on higher side continuing tab ibuprofen may worsen the scenario & may increase it further. On the other hand it is also important to look for the cause of your deranged BUN tests as Ibuprofen may be the causal agent to produce this renal impairment. If it is not the other causes should be ruled out.
So my advice to you is stop ibuprofen immediately, & consult your physician earliest. Get your complete renal profile ( sr. creatinine, Sr urea ) done. Drink as much of water as you can which will help reducing the BUN level. Take care. Do not neglect problem.
