Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been taking Xanax for awhile for anxiety. four weeks ago I started 20mg citalopram and it made me more anxiious and even depressed so now my doctor put me on 50mg of Zoloft and i still feel shaky. I have decided I don t want to take antidepressants anymore. Do I need to stop cold turkey ? I have been taking the citalopram for a month and the zoloft for 3 days. I am healthy 53 year old female weigh 127lbs.
i think, you have generalized anxiety disorder and in that case, you need continuous dose of antidepressant. Usually antidepressant takes time to show response and you can try them for more. Better to start relaxation exercise like JPMR or deep breathing exercise that would help to control underline anxiety symptoms.
Thanks
