Do I Have To Wait Another Month And Pop On With The Althea Pills ?

Hi Doctor, How many weeks or days can i have unprotected sex after i take althea pills? The leaflet on the box says i should take it during menstruation. Is it really necessary to take it during menstruation? I am already done menstruating this month. Do i have to wait another month and pop on with the althea pills ?

Yes,it wont work from mid cycle.You need to take it as prescribed.The first cycle please use alternative methods of contraception as you are not fully protected.

My doctor prescribed me this pills to correct my irregular menses.. I was too shy to ask also as to how many days or weeks can i have unprotected sex? Is it safe if I will have it after the 8th tablet? what are the chances of me getting pregnant?

You need to take the pills regularly as prescribed then you are protected.If your cycles are laready over this month you will have to wait till your next menses to start the pills.The first month of use please use other methods of contraception.After that provided you dont become irregular,you should be protected from pregnancy.
