Diagnosed Hypothyroidism, Taking Levothyroxine, High Cholesterol, Reduced Dosage, Getting Scalp Psoriasis, Muscle Pain. Reason?

Hi. I m a 45 yo female 250lbs with diagnosed hypothyroidism currently taking 150 mcg levothyroxin daily. I have high cholesterol with a family history of heart disease and started 20 then 40mg of symvestatin over the summer. after the jump to 40 mg started to get scalp psoriasis , then muscle pain. Have been off Statin completely for approximately 3 weeks. The muscle pain is gone but I am losing hair like crazy and the psoriases is still present. My DO said my thyroid is fine (unfortunately I don t have my ( TSH numbers handy). My family has history of Hashimotos and early long lasting menopause . What s my next step...endocrinologist referal?

Hello. If your thyroid hormones levels are normal, it is likely that the rash and hair fall are secondary to symvastatin intake.Other possible diagnoses are anemia or early menopause. Your doctor must request blood analysis to measure hemoglobin levels and estrogen levels.I wish you good health.
